Where did August go?

August is almost gone and it seems like it just began. I spent two weeks of August sick with cold and sinus issues. The rest of August has been dedicated to The List. The List is on my bedside table and it reminds me of all the things we have to do to our house in order to put it on the market. We're not planning to move far, probably less than ten miles from where we live now. We'd like to be zoned for a better school and one of the top public schools in our county is close by, so that's what we're aiming for. Our house is in good shape, but we want prospective buyers to walk in and think "We can move right in with no work!" so we've been busy painting, updating light fixtures, installing plantation blinds, decluttering, etc. My favorite thing is happening next weekend: hardwood in the kitchen and powder room! That will mean our whole downstairs will have hardwood! My next favorite thing will happen shortly after: new carpet. All this work is keeping us super busy, but the results are so worth it. After the hardwood and new carpet moving might not seem so appealing!
