Lauren had her last day of school on Thursday. She had a wonderful year and we were sad to see the year come to an end. Lauren's teacher, Mrs. Greenlee was amazing and Lauren learned so much from her. I think Lauren may have the math gene I was born without. She already loves to add. This morning we did simple addidtion while driving down the interstate.
We're kicking off summer vacation by celebrating Lauren's fourth birthday next week. This year, instead of a party with friends, we're spending the day doing fun things with two of Lauren's church friends. I'm not sure who is more excited, me, or Lauren. Birthday parties are fun, but a little stressful. Emmy's excited about Lauren's birthday, too. I wonder how she's going to feel about Lauren being the center of attention. She's already asked about having a friend for her on Lauren's birthday.
This week I've been reminded that Lauren really is growing up quickly. This week I was really frustated about something, so frustrated I was crying. Lauren said, "Mom, Jesus can help you not be sad or mad." I asked Lauren if she'd pray I would feel better, so she prayed the sweetest prayer, asking God to help me feel better. Sometimes she drives me crazy, but I'm so blessed to be her mom!
