The Second Half of July

July has been an interesting month for our family. Here's how we spent the second half of July. On the 18th we celebrated Jason's birthday, and then said good-bye to him the next morning. He was out of state in a banking school for 12 days, and it was a long 12 days. Knowing how much we'd miss him, I made many plans in hopes of filling our days. The first couple of days passed quickly. We spent some time at my parents and had a fun day with them at a state park, but on day 3 of 12, Emily got sick. On day 5 of 12, Lauren got sick and all our plans had to be cancelled. From day 3 until day 10 the days just seemed to crawl and all I could do was focus on how hard things were and how much I needed Jason home. Once the girls felt better and we could get out again, the days went much smoother. Though he missed us, Jason had a really good experience and seemed to really enjoy his time. The day that I cleaned up throw-up, body fluids, and washed and dried a red crayon with a load of clothes, I was less than thrilled with Jason's time away. It was a rough 12 days but I'm so proud of Jason, because being a part of this banking program is a huge honor in banking. I'm trying not think about the fact that he'll be participating in this program for the next two summers. I did get two bathrooms painted while Jason was gone and they actually look good! Jason thinks they look good, too! Thanks to Jennifer W. and Jennifer N. for helping us pass two of our 12 days! Needless to say, we're not letting Jason out of our sight for a long time!
