The last couple of days, I've tried to stress less and enjoy the little moments with Lauren and Emily. I wanted to share a few of the sweet moments I've enjoyed the last few days.
Lauren and Emily share a room and it works well, except for naptime and bedtime, especially naptime. When I shut the door after putting the girls down for nap, it sounds like a slumber party and I have to go in a couple of times to settle the girls down before they fall asleep. Usually I'm frustrated that they aren't immediately falling asleep, but on Friday I stood in the hallway and just laughed, enjoying the happy sounds coming from their room. I know they aren't always going to enjoy each other as much as they do now, so I'm trying to cherish the moments.
I had two sweet moments, observing Lauren with my dad this weekend. Lauren asked my dad to read to her before she went to bed, and the books she chose were about Cinderella and Ariel. It was funny listening to my dad read to Lauren about Cinderella preparing for a ball and Ariel wishing to dance like a human. Then this morning, Lauren saw my dad coming out of the bathroom and exclaimed, "It's Charlie!", which was almost as funny as when she called him, "Mr. Papa." I'm so glad my parents have chosen to be so involved with the girls.
My last sweet moment to share also happened this morning. While getting ready for Church, I peaked in Lauren's room and she was sitting on her bed reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear. She knows it by heart and it was so sweet to hear her "reading" it.
Life with a two year old and a one year old can be stressful, but it can be very rewarding, too!

I love all of your sweet stories about the girls. I wish I could be around them more. Have a good week and keep enjoying these special moments.

It's a good reminder to all of us moms with kids close in age to 'stress' less and 'enjoy' more. It's so hard to do in the frustrating moments though! Sometimes I think I'm going to lose my mind with my three! At the same time, I want to soak up every moment and not miss anything... thanks for your encouragement today...
We miss you guys so much!!
