French Fry!
Lauren doesn't meet a stranger and something happened Friday night to remind me of that. We went to the Funeral Home on Friday for the visitation of a special member of our church, Mr. Mac. The girls both did well, so we went across the street to Strattons, a diner straight out of the 50s, to eat. Emily was grumpy because it was past her bedtime, but Lauren was in rare form. Her friends, Carolyn and Ella, who are four, had also come to eat and the three of them were having a great time. Because the restaurant was so busy, it took a long time for our food to come and I guess Lauren got tired of waiting. She went over to this table of high school girls and made friends and the next thing we knew, Lauren was eating their french fries! Jason and I were mortified, but the high school girls thought it was hilarious, as did all of our church friends who were there. By the time our food came, Lauren wasn't hungry any more, so she used her food to torture her friends, waving her hamburger patty as close to Carolyn's dress as she could without actually touching it. BK (Before Kids) I would've thought what kind of parents let their child act like this. Now I know it has nothing to do with "letting" your kids act crazy and you just do the best you can to turn the moment into a teaching time. Sometimes they're receptive and sometimes they aren't.

To funny! I can just see Lauren eating their fries and talking with them. She has great communication skills for her age! I love straton's. Makes me want to drive there right now and get a choc. malt.
Love the story about Lauren! I just saw your blog link on Amanda's so thought I would come see what all is going on with you guys. It is been a long time since we have seen you guys, I know the girls have grown a bunch! Sounds like they are keeping you busy. We need to get together sometime!
