Yes, she really did

I think my hair is going to be gray by Emily's third birthday. Her little mind is always working and it is wearing me out. On Monday, I was doing the last of the painting(!!!!) before we list our house, and I realized it was way too quiet. I went looking for Emily and found her in her bedroom with a pen she got out of Jason's drawer. (How many times do you think I've told him he can't leave pens within her reach, even pens that are not visible?) She'd marked all over her mattress and on the trim below her window - the trim I've recently painted. I punished her for that and then moved on. Yesterday, we had another one of those too quiet moments, and she'd only been out of my sight for a maximum of two minutes. I raced upstairs and found her in her room with pink nail polish painting her toes. Unfortunately, the paint wasn't just on her toes, but also on the new carpet. Though it was slow going, I was able to trim off the carpet fibers that had polish on them. Jason couldn't even pick out the spot and he has eagle eyes when it comes to stuff like that. I'm pretty sure I also lost a year of my life when I first saw the polish on our carpet - the carpet we've had two weeks. Fun times. Fun times.

Oh no! I definitely have to worry about when it gets quiet around here. So far, it just means Luke has unrolled the toilet paper roll, but I'm sure he will be more mischevious as he gets older too. Just when you think you've outgrown a stage here comes the second one to start it all over again!
