When we decided we were going to start working on our house in order to put it on the market, I had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Maybe the water heater going out the day after we spent lots of money at Lowe's should have been a warning sign. Just kidding. What started out as, "Oh, let's fix up a few things." has turned into a whole lot more. We have been slowly but surely making progress and can see light at the end of the tunnel. We need to mark a few more things off our list and we'll be ready to list our house. One thing I've learned from this process is that I do not want to build a house - too many headaches! Our house is looking so good, that some days Jason comes home from work and says, "I'm not sure I want to move now that we've done all this work." The combination of paint, plantation blinds, more hardwood, new carpet upstairs, and clutter removed makes for a good looking house! The bad news/good news is that prices are still falling here, so while we won't get the money for our house we might have got six months ago, the upside is that we'll also pay less for a house, too. Thinking about a new house is exciting and scary at the same time!
