On Friday, the girls and I went swimming with Kassidy, Lauren's best buddy from preschool. The last few times we've been swimming we've spent most of the time inching our way into the water, but on Friday, Lauren headed straight for the water slide and then spent most of her time jumping into the water from the side of the pool. I was so proud of her for being brave. Emily was another story. She never wanted the water to be above her knees. We can't wait to go swimming again.
Every time I think about Kassidy, I have to laugh. Kassidy and Lauren are so much alike, so sparks fly frequently since they both want to be in charge. Lauren's friendship with Kassidy reminds me this is a small world. I dated Kassidy's dad for a short time in college - I was actually dating her dad when I met Jason. Kassidy's mom, Ralanna, invited us to lunch after swimming, and the girls did there what they do at our house all day - DRESS UP. What is it with little girls and dress up clothes?
Emily's imagination has moved into overdrive. This morning she told me that Tatum, my brother and sister-in-law's dog, bit her on the finger and chin. She's never even seen Tatum, just heard about him. Then she told us that the school bus ran over a dog. How does she even know the concept of something being run over? Last week, she hid her carrot from dinner in a dish towel that was on the table. She hates carrots, and when I asked her why it was in the dish towel, she said, "I'm saving it!" My favorite thing she's said recently: Jason asked her to come over to him and she told him, "I'll be with you in minute!" Do you think she's heard that before?

I like your new blog look! The swimming sounds like fun. Emily is so funny. I can't believe the quiet little girl we ate supper with can say such funny things.
Hope you have a good week. Miss you!
