February Recap

You might have noticed I haven't blogged much this month. I had been spending way too much time on the computer, so I tried to cut back my computer consumption and spend more time reading and interacting with the girls. February has been a fun month for us. I love that February is a shorter month, because when March comes the weather gets consistently warmer, even though we still have a few cold days. My favorite days this month were Valentine's weekend and a day we spent at my friend Amanda's house. Our Valentine's day actually started on Friday when Jason brought home flowers for each of us and cupcakes from a gourmet cupcake shop. One of the cupcakes was topped with strawberry frosting that had been dipped in chocolate. Oh my goodness! It was the best thing I've ever put in my mouth. On Valentine's Day we took the girls to Pei Wei, which is one of my favorite places to eat. The girls were so good! We're never sure what we're going to get when we take them out to eat and we were so proud of them. Then we spent about 3 hours at our favorite mall, which might be a record for my girls in a mall. Everybody left happy - Jason bought two suits, a couple of dress shirts, and ties, I found a great deal on a pair of shoes and we ended the mall trip by playing in the play place at the bookstore, which made the trip worth it for the girls. After putting the girls to bed we watched a chick flick Jason brought home for me and he tolerated it well. All in all Valentine's day was one of the most fun family days since our zoo trip this fall. My other great February day was spent with my friend Amanda. She used to live right down the street and I've missed having her close by. We haven't had a play date for about a year and it was wonderful. Lauren and Emily had so much fun playing with Tre and Emma and I can't wait for another play date. My month is ending with what I bet will be one of the highlights of my year. Thursday I'm taking the girls to my parents and I'm heading to Illinois for a scrapbooking camp with my friends Jennifer and Leslie. I can't wait! I've been felling guilty about leaving the family, but as it approaches the guilt is gone and I'm just getting more and more excited. I like scrapbooking, but I've never scrapbooked for a long amount of time, so we'll see how a whole weekend of scrapbooking works. I hope you had a good February, too.

I think I could eat my computer screen thanks to the picture of the cupcakes. Those look so GOOD. Now I want to send Barry after some. Maybe that's what I'll ask for on my birthday LOL! I hope you have a fantastic scrapbooking trip and just enjoy every single minute of it.
