Christmas music already?

At Lauren's school, Tuesday is music day. Lauren loves music and sometimes I'll overhear her singing the songs she learned in music, but she doesn't like to tell me about music. Yesterday, when she got in the van, I asked her about school and music, in particular. Her normal response when asked about music is, "We sang songs." Case closed, no more questions please, but yesterday was different. Here's our conversation:

Me: Lauren, what did you sing in music?
Lauren: Jingle Bells!!! (begins singing) Dashing through the snow! How does the rest of it go?
Me: What else did you sing?
Lauren: I'm a little jack-o-lantern.
Me: Can you sing more of it?
Lauren: No, mama. I'm not finished telling you about my other songs.
Me: OK.
Lauren: You better not potty, you better not cry.
Me: Huh??? Oh, you better not pout, you better not cry.
Lauren: Yeah mama, we sang that, too!

So there you go, "Santa Claus is coming to Town" rewritten by Lauren.

And then we proceeded to practice Christmas songs the rest of the way home.

Too funny! Love the "you better not potty"! You have to write that in her scrapbook. You're family picture looks great. Can't wait to see you all next week.

That is funny!! I love that age when they get words mixed up!

I haven't heard from you about pictures. We can still get them in before the leaves are all gone if you want to! Just let me know!!
