We had a wonderful trip to the beach! The girls travelled well, the weather was gorgeous, and our accommodations were beautiful. Our only problem was a gasoline shortage that made us afraid to venture far from 30A in fear that we wouldn't make it home. We stayed in Blue Mtn Beach, which is right next to Grayton. To me (and many others) the beaches of So Walton are the most beautiful in the world. I've seen beaches on the Atlantic and in Jamaica, and they just don't compare to Grayton's beautiful white sand and huge dunes. Because the "winter season" has started we practically had the beach and the pool to ourselves. Our days consisted of breakfast, beach, pool, lunch, nap, dinner, beach, pool, bath, bed. It really was one of the best vacations I've ever had. The simplicity of it was just what we needed. The girls loved building sandcastles and playing in the surf. Our last day was exceptionally calm. The lifeguard told Jason it was one of the three best days of the summer. That evening we saw dolphins, a sea turtle, and a sting ray. The girls had just enough fear to keep them safe. After our pool screaming this summer, I was afraid Lauren wouldn't get in, but she and Emily both enjoyed the pool. Our pool was beautiful. I just wanted to camp out there when we weren't at the beach. Emily would sing, "at the beach" over and over and over. She's actually still singing it. She loved sleeping in a big girl bed with Lauren and we unintentionally weaned her from the pacifier! Emily would wake up Lauren at 6 am and they would both come into our room smiling, bright-eyed and ready to go. Jason was able to catch up on his sleep, and though he took his golf clubs, he didn't play, just spent all his time with us, which was nice. He did have to do bank stuff after the girls went to bed, but that is a part of life I've made peace with. I can't wait for our next beach trip!

The water looks beautiful! So glad you had a great time. We may have to try out that beach next year.
