I Survived!!!

June is over and I survived it! You know we've been gone too much when Lauren, the girl on the go, is crying to stay at home rather than play with friends. After my Florida trip, I came home to direct VBS and it was wonderful. I put hours and hours into the planning and prep work and it paid off. I had dedicated workers and I know VBS wouldn't have gone as smoothly without them. There is definitely a learning curve and I learned a lot. I have wonderful memories of going to VBS growing up and I hope our church kids made memories they will cherish, too. As soon as VBS ended, I headed home to pack for my South Carolina trip. Despite being worn out from VBS and all the other places we'd been, we had a good trip and enjoyed being with my uncles, aunts, and cousins. I think Jason must have missed me a little bit during all my travels because a beautiful arrangement of day lillies and daisies was waiting for me when I got home from SC.

Sweet things the girls are saying:
18 mo Emily: I was singing to her a made-up song about how she loved me and she replied, "Love Nana!" I asked her who else she loved and she pointed to herself and said, "Me!", then after thinking some more, she added, "Papa!"

3 yr old Lauren: Tonight after finishing dinner, she turned to me and said, "Thanks for the wonderful dinner, Mom." She had Chicken Noodle Soup from a can. I did make banana pudding, meringue and all, for dessert.

Today, on our way to play with friends, Lauren said, "Mom, when is my dad going to be able to spend some time with me?" Between our travelling and Jason's work schedule, she hasn't had much Daddy time. I was glad to be able to tell her she had all day Friday to spend with Jason, plus Saturday and Sunday. I think we're going to the zoo in the morning, then grilling with friends and going to watch a fireworks display. Hope you have a wonderful 4th, too!
