Half way through June

Can you believe we are already half way through June? It is flying by. I had a wonderful birthday. Jason surprised me with a new Bible. I wanted an ESV and my Bible had come apart from the binding, so it was time. He and the girls also gave me Praying the Scriptures for Your Children and a musical card which the girls played over and over and over. Vacation in the mountains was lots of fun. Both girls loved going to the pool, though we spent most of our time in the baby pool. I tried to take Lauren in the 3ft/4ft so she could see that her bubble would float her but she was terrified, clinging to me and screaming, "I'm going to die!" and nearly pulling my bathing suit off in the process. They also got to do lots of wading and rock throwing in three different creeks. We went on a few hikes and saw deer and wild turkeys while hiking. On the most strenuous and dangerous trail, think signs along the trail saying Falling deaths have occurred on this trail, keep you children under control, several people a few minutes in front of us and then a man 10 minutes behind us saw a mama bear and two cubs climbing trees right beside the trail. We looked and looked, but never saw them. They were probably hiding since you can hear the girls a mile away. We took lots of long walks near the house we stayed in and Jason and my dad played gold every day. I bet Jason is having withdrawals after seven straight days of golf! While on vacation, we celebrated our ninth wedding anniversary. The years have flown by.

Things aren't going to slow down for a few more weeks. The first few days of this week, I'm doing VBS decorating, then at the end of the week, we're going to FL for my grandmother's 90th birthday celebration. We'll come back on Sunday night and VBS starts next Monday! Then, next Friday, we're off to SC. July will be seem boring after all our travels. I hope June is going well for you, too.

Glad you had fun on vacation and that the bears didn't get you and Lauren didn't "die" from swimming! We'll catch up with you all in July when things hopefully slow down!
