To Jamaica and Back

It's been about a week and a half since I've blogged and what a week and half it has been. Getting ready to travel is hard anytime, but getting ready to travel when you're children are sick and your husband doesn't have much time to help is really hard. Jason and I flew out of Nashville at 6am last Wednesday, and the days leading up to it were crazy. The Friday before we left we found out Emily had a double ear infection and pneumonia and by Monday, Lauren had a bad cough, too, but no fever. I took the girls to my parents on Tuesday afternoon. I was on my way home from my parents Tuesday evening, when I got a call from Jason, who was supposed to be in class, letting me know one of our flights was cancelled and I needed to get on the phone with the travel agent to work something out. I spent the next three hours trying to straighten out our travel plans for the next day. After getting two hours of sleep, I got up at 2:30 so that we'd be ready to leave at 3:30, and thus began our first day of the Jamaican vacation. Our flights down went well and by 11:30 we were in Jamaica. We stayed at the Rose Hall Ritz Carlton and it was absolutely gorgeous - beautiful rooms, beautiful views, great restaurants. Staying at the Ritz was definitely an experience all on its own. Our room wasn't ready so we went for lunch at Mango's which is on the "beach." More later on the "beach." We'd been at lunch for a few minutes when it started to rain and it continued to rain off and on for the next 24 hours.

More on the Jamaican vacation in the next post.
