Beautiful Music
Lauren loves to sing and we've been enjoying the "Lauren version" of whichever song she chooses to sing. A couple of Sundays ago, we were listening to Praise and Worship songs before church and a song Lauren recognized came on, so she started to sing along, "He is exhausted, the king is exhausted on high. I will praise Him. He is exhausted..." We weren't the only one who thought this version was funny. Our pastor, Bro. Paul, enjoyed the story so much he worked it into a sermon illustration. I'm sure Lauren will thank us when she's 15 and someone from church says, "I remember...". Tuesday night, her song of choice was "Oh my daughter, oh my daughter, oh my daughter Clementine." I like to sing the chorus of "Jesus Loves Even Me" and evidently Lauren's been listening because yesterday she walked through the kitchen singing, "I am so glad that Jesus loves Mom, Jesus loves Mom, Jesus loves Mom. I am so glad that Jesus loves Mom. Jesus loves even Mom." Don't you just want to hug her? She loves to sing in the Booster Band on Sunday nights. Two Sunday nights ago, she was so excited to see her friend Tre come and stand beside her. I had this horrible fear that she was about to haul off and kiss him right there on the stage in front of the congregation. Thankfully, she settled for giving him a big smile. Those sitting around us that night enjoyed watching her during congregational singing, Lauren sang away, happy that she knew one of the congregational hymns. I think Lauren will be ready for music lessons soon.
