Storytime at the Library

This morning I took Lauren and Emily to storytime at the main library. I was a little nervous because we'd never been and I wasn't sure how the girls would handle it. We arrived a few minutes late and had to sit in the very back. Lauren was apprehensive at first, but quickly warmed up and loved the puppets. She and Emily were so good that I'm planning to take them to a marionette show soon.
Jason's office is close to the library, so after leaving there, I pulled by the bank building so that they could look up at Jason's window. Jason had already told me his schedule for the day, so I knew we wouldn't be able to meet up with him. As we pulled by the building, I spotted Jason walking up the street. I honked and he was able to come up to the van and talk to the girls for a minute, it wasn't enough for Lauren and she cried and cried when we pulled away. I'll be so glad when Jason gets his MBA in April and we get to see him more often. Lauren told me recently, "Mom, my dad works so hard." She loved having him home on Monday for President's Day and told him, "Dad, you can do whatever you want today!" Well, not exactly, but it was a good thought. Jason watched Emily on Monday morning and then took Lauren to lunch and to play on Monday afternoon. Lauren is all about eating out and loves to be the one to pick the restaurant. Unlike me, she is very decisive and has no problem coming up with a place quickly. Her choice for Monday was Cracker Barrel, but she settled for Chick-Fil-A. Lauren is our on-the-go girl. She tells me at least once a day, "Mom, let's go somewhere." No sitting at home for her.
