Healthy Food

To help with my weight loss/get in better shape goal, I'm trying to make better food choices. Emily will eat anything, Lauren is more picky, and Jason is almost impossible. Jason will commit to drinking mainly water and no carbonated beverages, but getting him to do more is going to be a job. Last night I fixed salmon (my sister-in-law will be so proud), salad with lots of raw vegetables mixed in, green peas for the girls (Lauren says they're "sick.") and mashed cauliflower in place of mashed potatoes. Emily and I did well with ours. Lauren was a battle, but she managed to eat most of hers. Jason, however, opted for a sandwich when he came in. Great role model, huh? Hopefully it isn't too late to get the girls started out right, but Jason may be a lost cause. I think one reason we eat so much junk is that it is easy. Eating better takes time to plan and time to prepare, not to mention that you have to actually think about what you're putting in your mouth. If you have a good (healthy) recipe, pass it on to me!

Good for you Mary! It is extremely hard to eat right. I haven't gotten back on the right track quite yet, but I vow to at the new house! Robert's not a big adventurous eater either. He likes about 2 kinds of veggies--broccoli and corn! Oh well!
