What is even better than selling our house???
After signing all the paperwork last week to sell our house, I didn't think that life could get much better. But it did get better- so much better. On Friday night during our family devotion, Lauren told me that she wanted to ask Jesus into her heart. I spent some time questioning her, trying to be sure she understood what that meant. I've been going to a Wed. night class at church on Leading Your Child to the Lord, so this couldn't have come at a better time. After determing that Lauren did have a good grasp on what becoming a Christian meant, we prayed together and it was such a special, sweet time. I will never forget sitting in Sunday School when Lauren was a baby, and our teacher, Dr. Reid (for those who know him), talked about being intentional in your parenting and modeling your faith to your child. It was like a light bulb went on for us and Jason and I realized that we couldn't just take things as they came in parenting, but we had to have a plan. One of the things that we've been hearing a lot about is praying scripture over your child. Yesterday, our pastor suggested 2 Timothy 2:22. It sums up our prayer for our girls, that they would pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace from a pure heart. Also, in case you'd like to read them, the Wed night teacher recommended Leading Your Child to Christ by David Staal and The Faith of a Child by Art Murphy.

Yeah for Lauren!! I am so excited for you all. That is wonderful news that makes me cry with happiness! Like I mentioned on FB, our Lauren has been asking questions about getting saved also. She "knows" all the answers but how do you "know, know" that they get it? Thanks for sharing the two books about faith and salvation for kids. I'll have to check them out. Congratulations again! Tell Lauren that we're excited for her and we'll be praying for her.
So excited for all of you!! That is definitely the best news.
