Sweet times in Savannah
Last Friday, Jason and I celebrated our tenth anniversary. These ten years have passed quickly and we've grown up so much over the years. I thought I loved Jason on our wedding day, but I had no idea how much our love could grow. To celebrate our anniversary, we took a quick trip to Savannah and stayed in the beautiful McMillan Inn built in 1888. We did lots of walking around Savannah's beautiful squares, toured one of the oldest homes in Savannah, climbed to the top of the Tybee Lighthouse, and ate some amazing food. Jason loved Paula Deen's restaurant, The Lady and Sons, and while it was good, it wasn't any better than the food at church dinners growing up. I had some amazing shrimp and grits at Vic's on the River and the biggest milkshake I've ever seen at Clary's. I'd go back just for that! If you ever go to Savannah or Charleston you have to sample pralines. I have a smile on my face just thinking about it. The best thing about our trip, though, was just being able to focus on each other. I'm already day dreaming about next year's trip! Lauren and Emily had a fabulous time with my parents. On Sunday, after church, Lauren told my parents they had to take she and Emily out to eat "because they were the guestes." Lauren is big on the "guestes" as she says. I guess because she is so used to hearing so and so is the guest and they get to pick the activity, so Lauren milked being the guest for all it was worth. After four nights away, Emily was ready to go home, but Lauren cried inconsolably when we left. She is counting down the days until our vacation with my parents and brothers.
