What is it about a holiday that guarantees somebody at my house is going to get sick? Emily got sick on Christmas Eve, Jason had it on Christmas, and I've been miserable the last few days. The weather is beautiful outside and I need to take the girls out to play, but I just don't feel like it. I'll update you on our Christmas instead.
My parents came around noon on Christmas Eve. We visited with them for awhile and then around 4 we headed to our favorite special occasion restaurant, only to find out they closed at 3. After cruising around our side of town, we realized just about everywhere we wanted to eat closed at 3. So, we settled on Captain D's. It was good, but not exactly what I had in my mind, when thinking about Christmas Eve. After dinner, we came home and made Christmas cookies. I gave each girl their own mound of cookie dough and cookie cutter to work with. They were so proud of their creations and never guessed I didn't actually bake their handiwork. After opening their Christmas jammies and baths, they put out carrots for the reindeer and each put out a plate of cookies for Santa. After a moments contemplation, Emily ate the cookies she'd put out and Lauren drank Santa's milk. A few minutes later, Lauren started to worry that Santa might be upset about the milk and she did not like the idea of Santa going into our kitchen and getting milk for himself. Because Emily had a fever of 102.7, she slept with us which made for a rough night. We all looked a little rough when we made it downstairs Christmas morning. The girls were excited about all the gifts, especially the Barbie Jeep and Dora bike. Poor Jason, it was definitely a baby doll, barbie, princess kind of Christmas. As soon as we'd opened presents, we ate homemade cinnamon rolls and sausage balls and I started on our lunch. I made everything from scratch except our rolls, so it was a lot of work, but really yummy. I am now addicted to homemade cranberry sauce. I'll post some recipes in the future because we had some great stuff! Now it is time to get serious at the Y again and try to lose the holiday pounds. I hope you had a Merry Christmas and that your new year is wonderful!

So glad you had a wonderful Christmas. I bet your meal was so yummy. Would love to see some recipes. So sorry about the email mix-up. For some reason my email continues to put the old email addy in the "from" part and I always forget to change it.
