One of those Days
Do you ever have one of those days when you would have been better off staying in bed? Yesterday was one of those days for me. I started the day wiped out. I haven't slept much over the past week and half due to Jason's graduation, Emily's cold, Lauren's croup, and getting ready for Lauren's parties. I just wanted to take it easy yesterday and I did at first. Then I saw that the patio set I wanted was in stock and I decided to get the girls ready and head to the store to buy it. While I was getting ready, Lauren, who was supposed to be watching Dora the Explorer, decided to pour 16 fl oz of scented bubble solution in my floor. I don't know how she didn't kill herself getting a chair and climbing up to where it was, high above her head, and I don't know what made her think pouring it all over the carpet was a good idea. Now I have green stains to match the black permanent marker stains in the bonus room. Can we say HARDWOOD when we replace the carpet? Unfortunately I didn't realize Lauren had decorated the carpet, once again, until the girls were loaded in the van ready to head to the store. I ran back up to the bonus room to grab something and four empty bottles of bubble solution greeted me. I went back to the van, got both girls out, took Lauren to her room, and then went to clean up the bubble solution. While I was cleaning it up, Lauren fell asleep and proceeded to wet her bed. After getting her cleaned up, we headed back to the store and bought the patio set I'd been wanting. When we got home I ignored the Team Lift sticker on both boxes and pushed, pulled, and dragged the boxes until I got them out onto our deck. By the time Jason was home the table was assembled, chairs were free of bubble wrap, and everything looked good. I then went to start our grill, but it wasn't working. I decided to use the broiler instead. Problem was, I forgot I'd stuck the cupcake pan and plastic lid in the oven after arranging the cupcakes for Lauren's party. The next thing I know, I've got a fire in my oven and my pan is in flames. I start throwing flour into my oven and after a few scary minutes the fire is out and the pan is smoking in the front yard. I spent the next few hours cleaning my oven and kitchen. To quote my friend, Leslie, "Good times!" Do you think yesterday might have been easier if I'd just stayed in bed?
